Dear Children,
During this board result time, let us be prepared for many successes, but a few disappointments too.
All this while, you have to keep in mind that these results do not measure everything you have achieved till today. They do not define ‘You’ and certainly do not tell, that you are a singer, dancer, writer, player, actor, comic, explorer, inventor, researcher or a painter too. There is much more to you than your scores.
At this point in time, it would be important for you to remember that comparison is the thief of joy, so comparing your results with your siblings, friends, cousins or neighbors is a strict no-no. Such a comparison is about as useful as comparing a fish to a bird and judging them both on their ability to fly, and that does not sound fair, does it?
The situation might be overwhelming for you to handle, but it will be helpful to know that, we have also been there in the past – and therefore, understand what you might be going through. And since we have survived it, you have a good reason to believe that if we can-You can too.
So, however hard it may seem, it is time to focus on the positive in this situation and celebrate the wins it has to offer. In Flavia Weedn’s words, “If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.” Always remember, there isn't just one route to success and the life you want.
Finally, it is to remind you lovingly, that if you really want to do a particular thing in life, disappointing scores can’t stop you from doing it. Success & failures are part of life and should be treated as opportunities to learn & evolve, to identify & nurture your natural gifts - to allow emergence of the ‘Real You’.
A loving Parent
